From vineyard to consumer: FIVI’s wine market

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 at Piacenza Expo, the exhibition expecting over 300 winegrowers. Four tastings to get to closely know wines and territories.

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29, join the 5th edition of the Independent Winegrowers’ “Wine Market” at Piacenza Expo.

About 300 exhibitors are expected from all regions of Italy: the agricultural companies associated to FIVI – Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers). The Federation groups and represents those winemakers managing the entire production line, personally taking care of all the single phases from the vineyard to the vinification, including bottling. And just the winemakers themselves will narrate directly to the audience, during the two-day Market in Piacenza, their own territories and wines.

Besides tasting them, it will be possible to purchase the wines directly at the producer’s stands.

The four themed tastings will focus on the knowledge of the territories thanks to a few winemakers that interpreted them. To guide the tastings neither critics nor journalists are, unlikely it usually happens, invited, substituted by other winemakers and colleagues.

Saturday: at 2:00 pm La Franciacorta, an overview on the territory through the interpretations of the winemakers; at 5:00 pm Tenute Dettori, a journey into the binomial “Sardinia-Cannonau”.

Sunday: at 2:00 pm, Villa Bucci, a vertical tasting including five 5 vintages of the famous Verdicchio di Ampelio Bucci; at 5:00 pm Mascarello, an itinerary conceived by Maria Teresa Mascarello, daughter of the unforgettable Bartolo.

Besides the wines, it will be possible to taste food specialties in the areas dedicated to Artigiani del cibo (Food Artisans): cheeses, cold cuts, traditional breads, sweets. As usual, the Winemaker of the Year will be awarded the “Premio Romano Levi” prize. While a novelty element is added by the Photography Show including the pictures winners of the contest promoted on FIVI’s social media: #IndipendentiPerNatura.

The opening time of the Wine Market is: Saturday, 12.30 pm – 8.30 pm; Sunday, 11.00 am -7.00 pm. Entrance ticket: € 15.00 (reduced rate: € 10 for AIS – FIS – FISAR – ONAV and SLOW FOOD members).
